Magical Wakeup Kisses

(with advance apologies to future Cole for this post)

I’m not a morning person. Which is one of the hardest parts about being the father of a young child. My son does not understand the joys of sleeping in yet (though I’m sure if he’s like me it will kick in even before teenage years). When he’s up, he just wants us to be with him

Spelling His Name

Posted by Greg July - 5 - 2011 - Tuesday ADD COMMENTS

Part of our bedtime routine is saying good-night to stuff, kinda like in the “Goodnight, Moon” book. And one of those things is a nameplate on his door, which is decorated with dinosaurs.

“Night, dinosaurs,” he said, and since he was desperate for sleep, I thought we were going to skip the part where I spell out his name for him. But then something wonderful happened.

Mr. Know-it-All

Posted by Greg June - 27 - 2011 - Monday ADD COMMENTS

Looks like our guy has even more of both his mother and his father in him than anybody could have guessed! Daily conversations make it rather obvious, though: he is a total know-it-all.

Family Photo – Monkey-themed? You bet!

Just a link today. But trust me, you’ll want to click it:

Update: for Flickr types, you’ll notice a link to the Flickr version (larger) from Justin’s blog post. You can check it out there, too, and if you’re involved in the Flickr community at all it’s a good place to leave a comment for the man himself, add it as a favourite, etc.

Other update: Alex and I were chatting about it, and laughing about how when he was doing the “hanging from the bar” part of the shoot, he let Justin take a few shots and then calmly said to me, “Codey done.”* So cute. We wanted to try to get as many as possible, though, so I asked him “Can you go up for one more?” “Kay.” he said calmly and didn’t fuss. A few like that and we gave him his freedom. ;-)

*this is what he calls himself. ;-)
