Buncha photos this time! You lucky people….
Hallowe’en was pretty exciting for the little guy this year. We hadn’t built it up for a super-long time, but he knew it was coming. We coached him in “Trick or Treating”, had been doing some crafts leading up to the day, and of course we had our annual pumpkin carve-off. We tried to get Cole in on the fun with the squishy gooey pumpkin guts, but he wasn’t into it. In the end, we let him paint a small pumpkin his Nana bought for him at the Farmer’s Market. Regarding the carve-off: nobody ever votes on these (for fear of offending one of us?) so I won’t make you this year.
Besides, I know who won. Alex. How do I know? She says to me, “You win this year. Cole likes yours because it’s not the scary one.” Yeah, we all know that’s NOT the winning pumpkin carve.
The monkey was a monkey again this year, and since his aunt had purchased the costume for him last year, she came over to check it out and ended up going out with him for the first round of candy-beg–I mean “Trick or Treating”. He was apparently a bit uncertain for the first 4 houses, but then got into a rhythm. By the time I had my turn, he was quite happy to go up to houses and say the magic candy-grabbing words. And of course when we got home the first thing he said was, “Want to eat it ALL, now!”
We ran out of candy at our house, which always sucks. But only a few people came along after we officially ran out, and we gave them some bits from our secret stash.
Not much more to say! Photos!
